OpenQVis released on Sourceforge!
OpenQVis is a GPL project for the visualization of 3D volume data on
rectilinear grids, as they arise from tomographic measurement and simulation
in computational science and engineering. It uses QT and OpenInventor/Coin3D
to achieve cross-platform compability. OpenQVis is available for
Linux, Windows 98/ME, Windows NT/2000/XP and SGI IRIX. It has been
successfully compiled on HPUX. I am currently working on a MacOSX 10.2
build.

Updated Pre-Integrated Volume Renderer to
Version 2.1. The renderer now also supports ATi's Radeon8500 graphics card
by employing the fragment shader OpenGL extension. On GeForce3-based cards
the texture shader and register combiner extensions are used.

We have developed a novel texture-based volume
rendering approach that achieves the image quality of the best post-shading
approaches with far less slices, called Pre-Integrated Volume Rendering.

This time-dependent data is a numerical simulation
of convection flow in the earth's crust. Data courtesy of Dr.
Joerg Schmalzl, Institute of
Geophysics, Muenster University.
- Download (14,6 MB)and unzip into
the multi-texture demo directory.
- Then run shell script runme_bob.sh (Linux) or runme_bob.bat (Windows)
- Press "Play" button
Warning: requires a lot of main memory (at least
256 MB recommended)
Hint: Try Isosurface mode for nice effects. |

We'll be giving a talk and exhibition on this
years RSNA conference in Chicago (26.
Nov. 2000 - 01 Dec. 2000). These are the posters that we show at the exhibition
at space no. 9305. We will also give live demos on remote and GForce-based
