Guidelines for Authors - Authors' Kit
Guidelines for Presentations:
The presentation itself should take 20 minutes, including questions and answers.
The following equipment is available in the lecture hall:
- PC with Windows 2000, Powerpoint, Acrobat Reader 5, Quicktime
- Digital projector
- Overhead projector
- Slide projector
- Microphone and laser pointer
- VHS video cassette recorder (PAL and NTSC)
Guidelines for Poster Presentations:
- Each contributor has the opportunity to present the poster
to the workshop audience
in the form of a short, 2.5 minute teaser
- All the equipment mentioned above is available for this presentation
- Poster size may be as large as A0 (approx. 0.84m * 1.19m, portrait)
All contributions are published in the proceedings that will be available at the conference.
Please follow the guidelines for the preparation of the ready-to-print paper:
- The contribution must be written in English.
- Please prepare up to 8 pages (including references and figures).
- All papers are printed in black and white.
- You may add an additional page with colored pictures and concerning subtitles which will be included in the appendix of the proceedings.
- Each paper should start with an abstract of about 100-150 words.
- Use font size 9 pt.
- If you do not use LaTeX, use font Times New Roman.
- All contributions must have two columns.
- Do NOT use page numbering, use the number 666 instead (which is generated automatically by the LaTeX class file included in the authors' kit below).

An electronic version of your paper. Please send us a
tarball (.tar.gz or .tgz) or .zip file containing the following files:
- The LaTeX (or Word) file(s)
- The PostScript version
- All pictures and other files needed
Deadline for submissions is May 31st, 2001
Hints for creating PostScript files with Microsoft Word:
Use the printer driver (Adobe generic PostScript driver) coming along
with the author kit for Word and configure it
in the following way:
- Do NOT use printer fonts
- Set PostScript options to Maxmimum Portability
- Set printer paper size to A4
- Print to a PostScript file
