Research Positions / Ph.D. Projects

The Visualization and Interactive Systems group (VIS) of the Computer Science Department of the University of Stuttgart offers

full-time research positions

with the potential of pursueing a Ph.D. in computer science in the following areas:
  • Interactive flow visualization
  • Texture-based volume visualization in OpenSceneGraph (BMBF OpenSGPLUS)
  • New Media and web technologies for teaching computer graphics (BMBF ITO)
  • Application Service Providing and visualization on Linux clusters (Landesforschungsschwerpunkt ASPIC)
Candiates are expected to have a degree in computer science, mathematics, physics or engineering which enables them to pursue research on the level of a Ph.D. student. Furthermore, basic knowledge and experience in computer graphics, scientific visualization and software development in C/C++ is required. Candidates should be determined to perform leading-edge research, publish the results, and fullfil the project requirements. They should also be willing to take their share in the teaching load of the group.
