Nexus - A global infrastructure for location-aware applications

The NeXus project financed by the DFG[1] researches concepts and methods for location-aware applications with support for mobile users. It will lead to the development of a global platform for spatial-aware applications, whose main purpose is to maintain a distributed, dynamic model of the real world augmented by virtual objects. Virtual objects are associated with a geographical position or a certain real world object in this model.

Within this project a Researchgroup was founded in 01.01.2000 where our goal was to provide an interactive 2D/3D graphics display for location-aware applications.
